«Democracy Today» NGO continues its awareness-raising trainings aimed at preventing violence against women in different communities across Armenia.
Within the framework of the project “Addressing Violence Against Women in Post-Conflict Armenia”, trainings were conducted in Noyemberyan and Vanadzor.
During the sessions, Armine Vardanyan presented the topic of “Media Literacy,” focusing on safe online behavior, identifying disinformation, and the importance of critical thinking in the context of information chaos. The discussions particularly highlighted how information manipulation and different forms of online violence can affect women’s safety and psychological well-being.
In the second part of the training, psychologist Inna Hayrapetyan engaged participants through a forum theatre format, discussing:
- how to view situations from different perspectives (survivor, witness, supporter),
- understanding the dynamics of violence,
- distinguishing conflict from violence,
- practicing different response skills and approaches.
Throughout the trainings, participants voiced their concerns, while different forms of violence and prevention mechanisms were actively discussed.
The project is implemented in cooperation with Danner Foundation with the support of CISU.
