The NGO “Democracy Today” conducted training sessions on preventing violence against women in Martuni and Nerkin Getashen.
The training was delivered in a forum-theatre format, which allowed participants to:
Experience the situation from different perspectives (victim, witness, supporter),
Understand the dynamics of violence,
Practice various response skills,
Differentiate between conflict and violence.
During the sessions, participants raised issues of concern to them, and discussions were held on different types of violence and ways to prevent them.
The training was facilitated by experienced psychologist Inna Hayrapetyan.
These sessions were implemented within the framework of the project “Addressing violence against women in the border areas of post-conflict Armenia” , in collaboration with the Danner Foundation and with the support of CISU.
