“Democracy Today” NGO, in cooperation with Nunca Más- International Network for Human Rights and psychosocial response, conducted a two-day Democracy School on the topic of electoral law.
During the meeting, Meri Minasyan, Program Coordinator at the “Transparency International Anti-Corruption Center” NGO, led a discussion on public oversight mechanisms in elections, the role of observation missions, and the monitoring of electoral processes.
A discussion on the role and functions of the Human Rights Defender in the electoral process, as well as mechanisms for the prevention and protection of electoral rights violations, was conducted by Lilit Varagyan, Deputy Head of the Research, Expertise and Education Center of the RA Human Rights Defender’s Office.
Jan Ole Haagensen, Head of the Nunca Más organization, presented the electoral system of Denmark, electoral processes, and international best practices.
Lilit Dallakyan, PhD in Political Science, spoke about the impact of the situation in the Middle East on the region, as well as Armenian-Georgian relations. The meetings were accompanied by active discussions, during which participants raised questions of interest and engaged in meaningful dialogue.
