“Democracy Today” NGO, in cooperation with the Danish organization Nunca Más- International Network for Human Rights and psychosocial response, held a seminar for citizens in Dilijan on the topic of “Awareness of Local Self-Government Elections.”
During the seminar, participants learned about the key aspects of local self-government elections, the formation of local authorities, and the importance of citizen participation in local governance.
Gunlara Shahinyan, President of “Democracy Today” NGO, presented the importance of community resource assessment, engaging participants in identifying and analyzing the opportunities, needs, and available resources of their community.
Through discussions and group activities, participants explored community development opportunities, available resources, and the importance of participatory thinking.
The program also addressed the psychological impact of elections, focusing on the factors that influence people’s behavior, emotions, and decision-making during electoral processes.
Local democracy begins with an informed and active citizen.
